Research Opportunities

Research Interests:
Theoretical  soft-condensed   matter   physics. The  relation  between
structure, dynamics, and driving  mechanisms in ordered and disordered
particulate media. Computer modelling  of  super-cooled liquids and
glasses, colloidal suspensions, foams, and granular matter.

Open House
Several times a year SIU puts on an Open House event, where prospective
students come and talk with departmental representatives. Here is the
Department of Physics Open House presentation.
It gives an overview of what
physics is about, applications of physics, and potential employment with a physics
degree. There is also a section summarizing the faculty in the department. Some
simulation movies too, if you can view them.

If you have any questions about enrolling in the Department of Physics please contact myself, the Chair,
or the administrative staff here in Physics.
